2. DETERMINING FIT
Do you work with startup beauty and personal care brands?
Yes. We work with indie and startup brands, provided key project parameters are defined.
This typically includes:
- Product concept or category
- Target price range
- Target markets
- Expected order quantities
- Launch timeline
These details allow us to evaluate technical feasibility and commercial viability.
When should I contact Meiyume?
The ideal time to contact us is once you have defined:
- Product concept
- Target price range
- Launch timeline
- Sales markets
At this stage we can evaluate manufacturing feasibility, regulatory requirements, and development timelines. Where additional market validation is needed, we can also support with insights through our Beauty Intelligence Platform (BIP), helping guide and validate your product direction.
We recommend contacting us as early as possible before your planned launch date.
If you are ready to submit your enquiry to us, please fill in our contact form.
Do you support concept-stage projects without defined product specifications?
To ensure productive collaboration, we typically engage once key project parameters are defined.
This includes product concept, target price range, target markets, expected order quantities, and launch timelines.
If your project is still in the early idea stage, we recommend refining your product concept and market positioning before contacting our team.
Do you support project transfers of existing products in the market?
Yes, Meiyume supports project transfers as part of clients’ supply chain strategy. We can help you transition existing projects into our network and operations to support scalability, capacity issues, compliance, licensing, certification, or operational challenges.
If you are ready to submit your enquiry to us, please fill in our contact form.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Minimum order quantities vary by project type.
1. Finished Goods
Typical MOQs range from 10,000–20,000 units per SKU.
Smaller runs of 3,000–5,000 units may be possible for ready-to-launch formulations or multi-SKU projects.
2. Primary Packaging Solutions
Typical MOQs range from 10,000 units for stock packaging.
For fully customized primary packaging requiring new mold development/tooling, projects typically start at 50,000 units per SKU.
3. Secondary Packaging & Accessories
Typical MOQs range from 500–5,000 units per SKU, depending on product type.
Lower MOQs may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to project scope and cost implications.
What is your lead time from brief to delivery?
Lead times depend on the type of project.
1. Stock primary and secondary packaging projects
Typically around 3 months from artwork confirmation and PO issuance.
2. Custom primary and secondary packaging with new mold development and tooling
Typically 6–8 months after mold design approval.
3. Full turnkey solutions
Typically 10–12 months from final product brief to delivery. This includes formulation development, stability testing, packaging development and sourcing, regulatory documentation, and material lead times.
4. Ready-to-launch formulations with stock packaging
Assuming no changes made to stock packaging or actives/fragrances in ready-to-launch formulations, approximately 4–6 months from artwork confirmation and purchase order issuance.
Assuming customers wish to select different packaging or tweak actives/fragrances from the ready-to-launch range, lead time is approximately 7-9 months from artwork confirmation and purchase order issuance.
Your account manager will advise the expected timeline based on your project scope.
3. DEVELOPMENT & SERVICES
What are ready-to-launch formulations?
Ready-to-launch formulations are pre-developed formulations based on market trends that have already completed stability testing.
By combining these formulations with stock packaging, brands can launch verified, high-quality products faster, helping reduce development timelines.
Your account manager will advise if we have ready-to-launch formulations to meet your project needs.
Can we use Meiyume for product formulation without manufacturing or filling?
No. Our formulation development services are integrated into full turnkey solutions.
Formulation support is provided as part of projects manufactured either in our facilities or through our approved global supplier network.
Do you offer packaging design services?
Yes. We support packaging sourcing projects independently of manufacturing.
This includes:
- Primary packaging (bottles, caps, jars, closures)
- Secondary packaging (boxes, bags, tins)
- Accessories (beauty tools, gift-with-purchase items)
We offer two models:
1. Custom packaging development
Based on your project brief and positioning, we design and engineer bespoke packaging solutions. This may include mold development, multi-material construction, and sustainability features suited for masstige, premium, and super-premium brands.
2. Stock Packaging Solutions
We offer quarterly trend-led packaging collections suited for masstige brands. Many options include sustainability features such as recyclable materials, PCR content, reusable designs, or refillable systems.
Do you offer market intelligence and data analytics services?
Yes. We provide market intelligence and category insights to our existing customers through our Beauty Intelligence Platform (BIP), including:
- Market sizing and trends
- White space identification
- New product concept development
- Post-launch product monitoring
- Trend-aligned packaging insights
Custom research reports can also be commissioned.
4. COMMERCIAL & OPERATIONAL
Who owns the IP created during development?
For fully customised projects, new IP created during development is transferred to the client. Custom tooling (such as molds) is owned by the client once it is paid in full.
For ready-to-launch formulations and stock packaging solutions, the underlying IP remains the property of Meiyume.
How are finished products shipped?
Clients may arrange their own freight under EXW or FOB Incoterms or select DDP shipping for Meiyume to manage logistics and duties.
Direct-to-consumer fulfilment is not offered.
Can you sign an NDA before we share information?
Yes. We can review your NDA or provide our standard mutual NDA before exchanging confidential information.
Can I request samples before ordering?
Yes. Samples of ready-to-launch formulations and stock packaging solutions are available, subject to stock availability.
Custom formulation samples or prototype molds require development and sampling fees.
I would like to distribute or purchase the products you manufacture. Is this possible?
Meiyume is a contract manufacturer and development partner, and we do not sell finished products directly or operate product distribution businesses.
If you are interested in distributing or purchasing a specific product manufactured by Meiyume, please contact the relevant brand owner, or Meiyume’s portfolio partner – Collection Cosmetics, directly.
