References to “you” or “your” means you, the person or entity who is accessing or viewing this website, and references to “we“, “us“, “our“, “Meiyume” or “Meiyume Group Limited” means Meiyume Group Limited and each of its affiliates, subsidiaries and parent companies. When Meiyume collects information from you, its policy is to comply fully with the requirements of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”), and any other applicable laws regulating the treatment of personal data in the applicable jurisdiction. Personal data is any information relating to any living individual from which it is possible to identify that individual. In dealing with personal data, Meiyume will ensure its staff comply with the standards of security and confidentiality prescribed by law.

This activity is not intended for use by children under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly collect or use personal information relating to children.

Collection and Use of Personal Data

Meiyume will use your personal information, only with your prior consent of providing your personal data or any information to us on a voluntary basis. However, if you do not supply all information requested by Meiyume, this may result in Meiyume being unable to process your application or requests fully or at all. 

Without limitation to the rest of the Privacy Statement, Meiyume may collect and process the following data that you or a third party (e.g. the job posting platform you use) provide to us about you (which may include personal information) for the purpose of facilitating the job recruitment and handling your application:

  • Contact information (e.g. name, contact number, email address, residential address)
  • Work experiences (e.g. résumé, job history)

Data Security

Where personal data is stored electronically, Meiyume will take reasonable steps to ensure that any information provided by you is kept secure and is protected against loss, misuse or alteration. Personal data, whether stored in electronic form on computers or in hard-copy form, will be accessible only by authorised officers or employees of Meiyume. Persons designated by Meiyume to handle personal data will comply with this Privacy Notice and/or any other relevant obligations under applicable laws, and told how to fulfil Meiyume’s obligations to you.

While we take appropriate steps to maintain the security of your data; however you should understand that the open nature of the internet is such that data may flow over networks without security measures and may be accessed and used by people other than those for whom the data is intended.  Whilst we use all reasonable endeavours to protect your security, we advise users that data transmission over the internet and the World Wide Web cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure, and therefore that you use the website at your own risk. 

We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

Data Retention

Personal information you provide to Meiyume will be retained only for such period as may be necessary for the carrying out of the purposes referred to in this Privacy Notice or as otherwise specified at the time of collection. Generally, we may retain your personal data for up to one year from the date of rejecting your job application, unless you have given express consent for your personal data to be retained for a longer period or there is a subsisting reason that obligates Meiyume to retain the data for a longer period.

Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Information

Your personal data held by Meiyume will be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed or transferred to any third party without your consent. However, Meiyume may provide your personal data to any of the following persons (whether inside or outside the jurisdiction of the data collection), where necessary in order to fulfill the purposes stated in the

“Collection and Use of Personal Data” section above, or for any other purpose consented to by you or as notified to you at the time of collection of your personal data:

  • Meiyume Group Limited, its affiliates or subsidiaries who provides services or advice to Meiyume in connection with job recruitment operations, who is subject to a duty of confidentiality;
  • any person to whom Meiyume is required to make disclosure under any law applicable in or outside the applicable jurisdiction.

We shall ensure that all of these other companies protect your personal data by applying the same standards of security as us. Where the data processing involves transferring your personal data out of the data collection jurisdiction, we shall ensure that appropriate safeguard would be in place, for example only transfer to regions that provide equivalent data protection standard, or transfer based applicable standard contractual clauses. Data Subject Rights

You may have the right to the following free of charge, based on the applicable regulation of the data collection jurisdiction:

  • request an explanation on our fair processing of information and transparency over how we use your use personal information
  • access to your personal information and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Notice is already designed to address
  • request correction to any mistakes in your information which we hold o request erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations o receive any personal information concerning you which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations
  • object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for direct marketing
  • object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you
  • object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal information
  • otherwise restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

If you believe that we have not processed your personal information in accordance with the requirements described in this Privacy Notice or in accordance with the requirements of applicable data protection laws and regulations, you can lodge a complaint to the data protection authority of your region or the region where we are registered.

If this Privacy Notice is translated into any other language, the English language version shall prevail.
